TSMC Establishes Pride@tsmc to Deepen Its Commitment to Inclusion

Pride@tsmc is established in May 2025, becoming TSMC's fifth ERG.
TSMC holds its first themed lectures on gender diversity to enhance employees' understanding of LGBTQ+ issues, continuing to foster a workplace culture of mutual respect and trust.

Acting on the principles of its "Global Inclusive Workplace Statement", TSMC is dedicated to creating an inclusive workplace and actively fostering the growth of many Employee Resource Groups (ERGs). To further expand its support and development of diverse talents, TSMC launched its first initiatives focused on gender and sexual diversity in 2025. These include three theme lectures: "From Knowing to Understanding: The Diverse Faces of Gender," "From Understanding to Empathy: Supporting Gender Diversity and Building Psychological Safety," and "From Empathy to Allyship: Becoming an Ally for Gender Diversity." These lectures were designed to enhance employees' awareness of LGBTQ+ issues and attracted a total of 2,484 participants. During the third lecture, TSMC officially announced the establishment of its fifth ERG — Pride@tsmc — as a concrete step to support gender diversity. This initiative further promotes a culture of mutual respect and trust while fostering a workplace environment where employees feel a strong sense of belonging.

The first step to creating an inclusive workplace starts with oneself — respecting each other, fostering empathy, and ultimately supporting one another to become allies.

As society advances toward greater inclusion, TSMC is moving in step with these changes. This journey of gender and diversity began with raising awareness, gradually gained support, and finally led to the official establishment of Pride@tsmc.

Three-Phase Strategy: Gradually Deepening Engagement with Gender Diversity

To foster a work environment that provides psychological safety, TSMC adopted a three-phase strategy of "Strengthening Understanding, Building Empathy, and Gaining Support." Through themed lectures, external experts, allies, and advocates who identify as LGBTQ+ or support the community were invited to engage in in-depth discussions and share personal experiences. These initiatives aimed to increase employees' awareness of gender and sexual diversity, foster empathy and inclusion, and encourage everyone to actively participate and support, working together to create a workplace that respects differences.

With voluntary support and enthusiastic responses from employees, over 400 individuals expressed their recognition and willingness to join an ERG during the three lectures. This momentum led to the official establishment of the gender and sexual diversity ERG — Pride@tsmc — on May 16, 2025. The group was founded with the following mission: "Pride@tsmc is committed to creating an environment where LGBTQ+ and all colleagues can shine as their authentic selves, grow and respect one another, and together cultivate a culture of trust and inclusion." Pride@tsmc represents a significant milestone in TSMC's journey toward developing a global inclusive workplace.
