TSMC Hosts First "GIW Month" to Foster a Culture of Belonging
Over 3,000 People Vote for Symbols of TSMC; Limited-edition Kuai Kuai and An-An Baby Both Make the List
TSMC is committed to realizing its "People Vision," fostering inclusion through the "Global Inclusive Workplace Statement." From October to December 2025, the company held its inaugural "Global Inclusive Workplace Month (GIW Month)," focusing on "I Belong@tsmc" and "Inclusion with Allyship." This initiative brings together five Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) and external partners/allies for a variety of inclusion activities. In addition to observing international diversity-related holidays to strengthen support for diverse groups in different countries, Pride@tsmc also participated for the first time in LGBTQ+ parades in Taiwan and Phoenix, Arizona, USA. TSMC also collaborated with the international disability inclusion NGO Disability:IN to explore the challenges and opportunities of self-identification and identity, further deepening inclusive values. The two-month GIW Month saw a total of over 6,200 participants, strengthening employees' awareness of inclusion and self-realization.
Upholding the philosophy of "Creating an Inclusive Workplace with a Sense of Belonging," TSMC hosted the GIW Month global online opening event with the theme "I Belong@tsmc." Employees were invited to vote for representative TSMC-specific terms, items, or events, including ICIC, green Jinshun Kuai Kuai, An-An Baby, and Sports Day, all of which carry the shared memories and pride of TSMC employees. At the same time, employees were encouraged to share their moments of belonging (My TSMC Moment) through text or images, deepening connections through personal experiences and bringing more warmth and vitality into the TSMC family. This initiative attracted enthusiastic participation from 3,145 employees worldwide, receiving 1,472 touching stories. Their sharing not only showcased individual experiences and resonance but also created a microcosm of TSMC's inclusiveness, demonstrating the value of belonging within the corporate culture.
True belonging came on an ordinary afternoon. As I passed the production line and saw the machine we built operating quietly and efficiently, a technician smiled and gave me a thumbs-up. It was then that I deeply realized we weren't just building a machine, but a proud connection with the company and with our partners.
In work and life, there are always many seemingly impossible challenges, but at TSMC, as long as we unite, trust, and work side-by-side, we can turn the 'impossible' into 'possible.' That sense of belonging and honor is the most precious strength in my career.
In addition to inviting colleagues to share their moments of belonging at TSMC, GIW Month also actively participates in a variety of festivals and issues, focusing on areas of diversity such as gender, race/nationality, disability, U.S. veteran status, and sexual orientation. Together with ERGs (Employee Resource Groups) and external partners/allies, TSMC promotes the 'Inclusion with Allyship' initiative, supporting the growth and development of diverse talents, and fostering an inclusive culture and environment through the establishment of strong alliances and collaborative relationships.
It feels amazing to walk the streets and speak up for love alongside my coworkers, all with the Company's support. This experience has made me feel a deeper sense of belonging to the Company.
TSMC views talent as a vital asset and will continue to promote and expand GIW Month. Internally, TSMC will empower all colleagues to become Catalysts for Inclusion. Externally, the Company plans to leverage broad collaboration to make a positive social impact through our industry. TSMC hopes that through sustained effort, the Company can create a workplace filled with a sense of belonging, not only achieving talent attraction and retention but also enabling every colleague to realize their self-worth, unleash innovation, and create a new chapter of co-creation and inclusion together.
