TSMC Partners with University Resource Centers to Support Talent Development for Students with Disabilities
TSMC Hosts Inaugural Event at Headquarters, Bringing Together 127 Teachers and Students from 18 Universities to Broaden Career Horizons
TSMC is committed to creating an inclusive workplace and actively promoting the recruitment and support of talented students with disabilities. As part of these efforts, the Company hosted the first-ever "Accessible Education Center Student and Counselor Visit" in 2024 to provide students with disabilities a deeper understanding of TSMC's operations and culture. The event included six key activities: an overview of TSMC, exploration of career opportunities, an experience-sharing session, a tour of the Company, a resume-writing workshop, and an interactive session with the Human Resources team. These activities helped students gain valuable insights into TSMC's corporate culture and work environment while exploring diverse career opportunities. By August 2025, TSMC had hosted three visits, welcoming 127 teachers and students from 18 universities, earning a satisfaction score of 94. Over 96% of the participating students expressed interest in joining TSMC, opening new possibilities for their career development.
Sharing Workplace Insights to Inspire Students to Pursue Their Dreams
Reflecting its commitment to a people-centered workplace culture, TSMC carefully designs each visit to ensure an inclusive and enriching experience for all participants. Before the event, the Company gathers detailed information about each student's disability and specific needs, customizing event routes and processes to ensure smooth participation. During the program, professional stenographers transcribe spoken dialogue into text displayed on screens, enabling students to follow conversations with ease. Additionally, volunteer partners provide dedicated, one-on-one support, helping students engage confidently throughout the event. Recognizing the crucial role that university resource center counselors play in supporting students' academic journeys, TSMC also invited counselors to join the visits. By fostering stronger collaboration and communication with schools, TSMC aims to build a robust support network that empowers students in their career development and personal growth.
The program also included an interactive segment called "A Day in the Life of an Engineer," where employees with disabilities shared their workplace challenges and strategies for overcoming them. They encouraged students to openly articulate their disabilities and support needs to receive better assistance. By sharing their experiences, these employees offered practical advice and insights to help students build confidence and navigate future workplace challenges.
By listening to alumni share their career experiences, I gained insight into how they overcame challenges associated with their disabilities. This gave me greater confidence to address concerns I might not have considered before.
I am grateful for the opportunity to engage in face-to-face conversations with HR professionals who answered my job search questions. Such experiences are rare, and I deeply appreciate TSMC for providing such a wonderful opportunity.
Students often focus on academics and exams, lacking concrete knowledge about career development. Venturing beyond the campus to visit enterprises allows them to expand their perspectives, transforming abstract ideas into tangible insights and helping them gradually develop clear career plans and goals.
I am glad to share my experience with the students to help them understand TSMC's commitment to supporting employees with disabilities. I hope my story inspires them to break through barriers and build a future of their own.
Diversity in talent is a key driver of industry upgrades and societal progress. TSMC is dedicated to fostering a supportive and inclusive environment for employees with disabilities and plans to continue promoting the visit program in the fourth quarter of 2025. The Company is also evaluating the possibility of expanding the program to include more universities and participants, reinforcing its vision of an inclusive workplace while driving sustainable innovation in both industry and society.
